Polished cuirasses have been worn since the coronation of King George IV in 1821.
Certain changes have been made, but they are virtually all the same as at that time.
The old cuirasses, worn from 1661 to 1730, were black and were not worn for
ceremonial duties, and not worn at all from 1730 to 1820
