OF THE MOUNTED REGIMENT

Full Dress Mounted Review Order

Worn on State Occasions, Escorts, Lining The Staircase of Royal Palaces,
Garter Ceremony - or when ordered.

Also worn by Officers of The Queen's Life Guard when the Guard
turns out on State occasions.

Tunic, Leather Pantaloons, Jackboots and Gauntlets. Cuirasses, Sword,
Gold Belts and Gold Slings.

Helmet and Plume. Cloaks may be worn in inclement weather.

State Saddlery, Shabracque.
LG - Garter, Breastplate, Gold Bridoon Rein, Goatskin;
RHG/D: Beard, Lambskin, Shabracque.

Full Dress Dismounted Review Order

Worn by Dismounted Marching Parties on Ceremonial and
State Occasions when Mounted Review Order is not ordered
- also dismounted staff officers on State Occasions.

Tunic, Overalls, Wellington Boots and Gauntlets.
Sword. Helmet and Plume.

Cloak may be worn in inclement weather.

Gold Belt and Sword Slings are to be worn when a member of the
Royal Family is present - White Belt on other occasions.

For Dismounted Review Order, a longer version of the Short Sling is worn,
to hold the Scabbard to the thigh for foot drill,
and to enable standing at ease.

Short White Gloves may be worn on appropriate occasions
when not on parade with troops.

Full Dress Guard Order

Worn on Queen's Life Guard, Mounted Inspections, and Rehearsals for
The Queen's Birthday Parade when no member of the Royal Family is present.

Also, mounted detachments in the Funeral Procession of a Field Marshal,
or the Lord Mayor's Procession.

Tunic, Leather Pantaloons, Jackboots and Gauntlets.
Cuirasses, Sword and White Belt. Helmet and Plume.

State Saddlery. LG - Bearskin; RHG/D - Sheepskin.

Cuirasses are not worn by the Officer of the Guard
on the Four o'clock Inspection.

When the Guard is cloaked in winter, Short White Gloves are worn,
and no Cross-belt.

Levee Dress

Worn by Gold Stick and Silver-Stick-in-Waiting, Silver Stick Adjutant
(and others if ordered) when in attendance on State Occasions,
Levees, and when specially ordered.

Tunic, Leather Pantaloons, Jackboots and Gauntlets. Sword & Gold Belt.
Helmet and Plume.

Cloak may be worn in inclement weather.

Undress

Worn by Officers when inspecting -
or in attendance on an Officer inspecting - soldiers in Full Dress.

Also, the Orderly Officer on the Four o'clock Inspection,
and as otherwise appropriate.

Frock Coat , Overalls, Wellington Boots and Short, White Gloves.
Sword and White Waist Belt.

Forage Cap. No medals or decorations. The Star of one Order.

State Saddlery - LG: Bearskin; RHG/D: Sheepskin.

No 1 Dress Ceremonial

Worn by Household Cavalry Officers as authorised by
Army Dress Regulations, or by the Major General, on occasions
as laid down by the Major General - or the Commander in Chief
of the Theatre (when the wearing of ceremonial uniform is required -
and the Orders of Dress listed above would not apply).

Blue Jacket, Overalls, Wellington Boots and Short, White Gloves.
Sword, Gold Shoulder Cords. Gold Cross-belt and Slings are to be worn
when a member of the Royal Family is present - and
White Cross-belt and Slings on other occasions.
Forage Cap.

Cloak may be worn in inclement weather.

Gold Cross-belt and Slings are always worn
for the Sovereign's Parade at Sandhurst.

No 1 Dress Non Ceremonial

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers - as ordered.

Blue Jacket, Overalls, Wellington Boots and Short, White Gloves.
White Cross-belt. Sword if required - otherwise, Slings linked.
Forage Cap.

Cloak may be worn in inclement weather.

No 1 Dress Mounted

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers competing in Horse Shows
- and as ordered.

Blue Jacket, Pantaloons, Butcher Boots, Short White Gloves
and Stick (or Whip). White Cross-belt. Slung Sword if required.
Forage Cap. Cloak may be worn in inclement weather.

State Saddlery with Stripped Saddle, or Brown Head Kit
and White Headrope with Plain Stirrup Irons -
or Civilian Saddlery, as appropriate.

No 2 Dress (Service Dress) - Mounted Order

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers - as ordered.

Khaki Jacket, Breeches and Boots. Sam Browne Belt
and Brown Leather Gloves. Sword in Leather Scabbard if ordered.
Slung Sword in Steel Scabbard. Forage Cap in London or on
formal occasions; Service Dress Cap on other occasions.

British Warm Coat or Mackintosh may be worn in inclement weather
- as ordered.

State Saddlery with Stripped Saddle, or Brown Headkit
and White Headrope with Plain Stirrup Irons -
or Civilian Saddlery as ordered.

No 2 Dress (Service Dress) - Dismounted Order

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers - as ordered.

Trousers and Brown Shoes. Sam Browne Belt and Brown Leather Gloves.
Sword in Leather Scabbard if ordered. Slung Sword in Steel Scabbard.
Forage Cap in London or on formal occasions;
Service Dress Cap on other occasions.

British Warm Coat or Mackintosh may be worn in inclement weather
- as ordered.

No 3 Dress (Warm Weather)

Worn by Household Cavalry Officers as authorised by
Army Dress Regulations, or by the Major General, on occasions
as laid down by the Major General - or the Commander in Chief of the Theatre
(when the wearing of ceremonial uniform is required) - in hot weather areas.

White Jacket, Blue Overalls and Wellington Boots. Sword, Gold Shoulder Cords.
Gold Cross-belt and Slings are to be worn when a member of the Royal Family
is present - and White Cross-belt and Slings on other occasions.
Forage Cap.

No 4 Dress (Warm Weather)

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers on appropriate occasions
- when not on parade with troops.

Lightweight Stone-coloured Jacket, Trousers and Brown Shoes.
Sam Browne Belt on formal occasions; Cloth Belt on duties.

Forage Cap in London or on formal occasions;
Service Dress Cap on other occasions.

No 6 Dress (Warm Weather Bush Jacket)

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers on appropriate occasions
- when not on parade with troops.

Bush Jacket, and Trousers. Sam Browne Belt or Cloth Belt.
Forage Cap or Service Dress Cap -

Forage Cap in London or on formal occasions;
Service Dress Cap on other occasions.

No 7 Dress (Warm Weather Barrack Dress)

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers on appropriate occasions
- when not on parade with troops.

Shirt and Trousers. Web Belt or Stable Belt.
Service Dress Cap or Beret.

No 8 Dress (Combat 95 Temperate Combat)

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers on training,
and on active service.

As issued - Polo Necked Sweater is to be worn if ordered.
Web Equipment. Combat Hat or Beret.

Cloth Badges of Rank.

No 9 Dress (Warm Weather Combat Clothing, Desert Clothing)

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers serving in Theatres
where this dress is authorised - in hot climates.

As issued - Shirts are worn tucked into Trousers. Web Equipment.
Combat Hat or Beret.

Cloth Badges of Rank.

No 10 Dress (Mess Dress)

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers - when dining in Messes;
when Officer of The Queen's Life Guard dining at St James's Palace;
and formal evening events.

Scarlet Mess Jacket, Waistcoat, Overalls and Wellington Boots.
Miniature Medals.

Forage Cap or Side Cap.

Helmet and Plume, Cloak and Sword will be worn when going
to St James's Palace.

No 11 Dress (Warm Weather Mess Dress)

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers serving in Theatres
where this dress is authorised - when dining in Messes;
and formal evening events.

White Mess Jacket, Overalls, Cummerbund and Wellington Boots.
Miniature Medals.

Forage Cap or Side Cap.

No 12 Dress (Overall Clothing)

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers on AFV maintenance.

Overalls as issued - Polo Necked Sweater if ordered. Beret.
Cloth Badges of Rank.

No 13 Dress (Barracks Dress)

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers - on training, administration,
office work in camp or barracks, training out of barracks
- all at the Commanding Officer's discretion.

This order of dress is not to be worn in London, unless
specially ordered by the Commanding Officer.

Shirt, Jersey Heavy Wool, Khaki/Green Trousers.
Stable Belt or Web Belt.

Service Dress Cap or Beret. Brass Badges of Rank.

No 14 Dress (Shirt Sleeve Order)

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers - on training, administration,
office work in camp or barracks, training out of barracks
- all at the Commanding Officer's discretion.

Also to be worn on Drill Parade when ordered by the Commanding Officer.

This order of dress is not to be worn in London, unless
specially ordered by the Commanding Officer.

Shirt and Khaki Trousers. Sam Browne Belt, Stable Belt, or Web Belt
- as appropriate.

Forage Cap, Service Dress Cap or Beret - as appropriate.

ERO (Escort Rehearsal Order)

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers - on Rehearsals for State Occasions,
Escorts, Staircase Lining, Garter Service, and on The Queen's Life Guard
when the Guard turns out on State Occasions.

Also for Dismounted Marching Parties on Ceremonial and State Occasions.

Khaki Jacket, Breeches and Boots. Sam Browne Belt and Short White Gloves.
White Buff Slings, Slung Sword and Steel Scabbard. Helmet and Plume.

Greatcoat may be worn as ordered.

State Saddlery with Stripped Saddle.

Blues Patrols

Worn by all Household Cavalry Officers - on administration, and
office work in camp or barracks.

Blue Jacket, Blue Patrol Trousers, Black Shoes and Whip.
Short White Gloves are carried - not worn. Forage Cap.
