Full Dress Mounted Review Order

Worn by Household Cavalry soldiers on State Occasions, Escorts,
Lining The Staircase of Royal Palaces, and Garter Ceremony
- or when ordered.

Tunic, Leather Pantaloons, Jackboots and Gauntlets.
Cuirasses, Sword and Crossbelt. Helmet and Plume.
Cloaks may be worn in inclement weather.

Horse furniture complete with Sheepskin.

Full Dress Dismounted Review Order

Worn by Household Cavalry soldiers on Dismounted Marching Parties
on Ceremonial and State Occasions when Mounted Review Order
is not ordered - also on Barrack Guard.

Tunic, Overalls, Wellington Boots and Gauntlets.
Sword, Crossbelt and Waist Belt. Helmet and Plume.
Cloak may be worn in inclement weather.

For Dismounted Review Order, a longer version of the Short Sling is worn,
to hold the Scabbard to the thigh for foot drill, and
to enable standing at ease.

Full Dress Guard Order

Worn by Household Cavalry soldiers on Queen's Life Guard,
and all other mounted ceremonial when Full Dress is ordered
(other than occasions listed under Full Dress Mounted Review Order - above).

Tunic, Leather Pantaloons, Jackboots and Gauntlets.
Cuirasses, Sword and Crossbelt. Helmet and Plume.
Cloaks may be worn in inclement weather,
and on Queen's Life Guard in winter.

Horse furniture, complete with Sheepskin.

Once dismounted, the Cloak is boxed up by the Kicking Strap,
and the Scabbard is removed.

Note that this is identical to Mounted Review Order for soldiers.
Horse furniture is also identical.

Worn by Household Cavalry soldiers on The Queen's Life Guard
- when parading dismounted.

worn not on parade, and under arms.

Tunic, Overalls, Wellington Boots and Short, White Gloves.
Waist Belt and linked Sword Slings. No Sword or Crossbelt.
NCOs carry a Whip. Forage Cap.

Cloak or Cape may be worn in inclement weather.

No 1 Dress

Worn by all Household Cavalry WOs and NCOs, Mess Waiters,
and Officers' Orderlies. A pool is also held in each Regiment.
This form of dress is worn on all State Occasions by those not entitled to
Full Dress, and WOs and NCOs in the Guardroom of The Queen's Life Guard.
As ordered.

Blue Jacket, Overalls, Wellington Boots and Short, White Gloves.
Crossbelt, Sword Slings linked below Jacket. NCOs carry a Whip.
Forage Cap.

Cloak may be worn in inclement weather - if issued.

Web Belt to be worn on training.
(Stable Belt may be worn at other times).
Beret.

Commanding Officer may authorise the wearing of Forage Caps
for men not on training or fatigues.
